Background
Bashir earned his Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Ilorin, Kwara, and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2006. He holds a Master of Law degree from the University of Ibadan. He joined SimmonsCooper Partners in 2007 and was appointed a Partner in 2018. In his current role, Bashir leads the Taxation, Commercial and Civil Litigation, Special Tribunal, and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice areas and is a key member of the firm's Management Committee.

• Lead representation for an oil and gas company in a $9.320 million international commercial transaction dispute involving letter of credit enforcement across multiple countries including Ireland, China, Canada, and Nigeria.
• Tax advisory and consultation for an upstream oil and gas firm, resolving a substantial N1.9 billion tax liability with the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
• Consulted with Oyo State Internal Revenue Service (OYIRS) and Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) on increasing Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) through Stamp Duties.
• Engaged in appellate-level defence for election petition cases in recent general elections across various states including Akwa-Ibom, Benue, Edo, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Kwara, Lagos, Ogun, and Osun.
