SimmonsCooper Partners (SCP) has just produced another fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is Bashir Akanni Ramoni.
Bashir, an astute litigator was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006. He joined SCP in 2007 as an Associate. In 2010, he bagged his Master degree in law from University of Ibadan and in 2011, he was admitted into the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) as an Associate member. He became a Senior Associate in SCP in 2013 and in 2015, he was elevated to the position of the Head, Litigation & Taxation of the firm. His contribution to the publication of the book titled “Indirect Taxes in Nigeria” by CITN in 2014 showcased his exceptional cognitive domain and outstanding performance on taxation and revenue matters. He was honoured with a meritorious award at the CITN 2015 Annual Dinner & Award Night. In 2015, he was nominated to the board membership of the Indirect Tax Faculty of the CITN. He was returned as a board member of the same faculty in 2016 till date. He has critical paper presentations on various tax matters to his credit. Bashir’s application for status upgrade to the position of a fellow of the esteemed CITN was approved by the Council of the CITN and on 2nd December, 2017 he was conferred the title of a Fellow of the CITN.
